How To Add A Vehicle/Driver

To start assigning jobs to your drivers In Detrack, you will need link your drivers's device to your organization's Detrack dashboard. This article will provide the steps on how to add a vehicle/driver into your Detrack account.

1 - Download the Detrack Driver App

The Detrack Driver App is the medium to receive the jobs from the Detrack dashboard.

iPhone:

  1. Open the App Store app

  2. Search for: Detrack

  3. Select the Detrack Proof Of Delivery POD listing in the search results

  4. Tap on the Install button to download the Detrack App

Android

  1. Open the Google Play app

  2. Search for: Detrack

  3. Select the Detrack Proof Of Delivery POD listing in the search results

  4. Tap on the Install button to download the Detrack App

  1. Open up the Detrack Driver App.

  2. Click the blue Register button (at the bottom of the screen). This Detrack ID is for entering into the Add Vehicle form.

  3. A unique Detrack ID will be generated.

2 - How To add a driver by linking your driver's device to your Detrack Dashboard

  • In your Detrack admin dashboard, click on the Vehicles tab.

  • Click Add Vehicle.
    ​

  • An Add Vehicle form will appear.

  • Your drivers can link their devices either by providing you their Detrack ID, or by scanning your organization's QR code

    Option 1: Enter the Detrack ID (from the Driver App) into the field.

    Option 2: Send this QR code to your driver and get them to scan the QR Code
    ​

    1. In the Driver App, tap on the Menu at the top right hand corner.

    2. Tap Scan QR to add device.

    3. Tap Scan the QR Code to scan the QR Code displayed in the Add Vehicle form.
      ​

    4. Alternatively, drivers can also upload the QR code from their photo gallery into the driver app to link their device

3 - Important Driver Fields to take note of

After adding your driver/vehicle, you may also rename your driver for ease of driver management. Click Save to add vehicle into your Detrack account.


Here are some key driver fields

Name / Vehicle No.

The name (usually the vehicle plate no.) you wish to assign to the vehicle so that you can easily identify it from the list or on the map.

Mobile No.

The mobile number of the driver that your customers can contact regarding the delivery. Country code is required.

Groups

Assigns the driver to Group.

Can grab marketplace jobs

To enable the vehicle to grab jobs from the marketplace.

Vehicle Mode

Used for Route planning to determine the optimal route path (eg. large vehicles may not take certain paths with narrow roads)
